Email Sent to the Dancers

Below is the template that I used when sending an email to the dance company. Obviously where you see ______ the companies name/dance type was put to help personalise the emails.

Dear ___________
I am a Media Studies student from Aldenham School, and I am currently undertaking the planning and filming of my music video required for my A2 Media Studies course. I have greatly enjoyed looking over your website and viewing your videos. I am contacting you to ask whether you would be interested being in my music video? The video will be just over 3 minutes long and I am putting together a montage of different types of dances to raise a point of equality within the dancing community. I would be happy to discuss the contents of the film with you or any participants.

If consent were given, I could film you and/or your students dancing immediately or at your convenience. Sitting in on a lesson and filming the students would be very useful and I will ensure that all those that would be filmed would be asked to fill in consent forms.

I need 3 minutes of film, consisting of a ____ routine which I will edit into smooth transitions of each dance type. This should really take no longer than 15 minutes of your time.
As a media student I have no funding. However I can offer you all of the footage I take of your dancing edited on Final Cut Pro X and filmed on professional cameras. And I will happily mention you and your school on the credits.

Thank you very much for reading this lengthy email and I really hope to hear from you soon!
Many thanks and best regards,

Dan Opie
A2 Media Studies Student, Aldenham School.

I used my Gmail account to send the emails.
