The vision for my music video is hard to accomplish, it involves the huge logistical challenge of obtaining many different dancers to all be filmed and then brought together in the video. However this is easier said then done especially since hiring each individual dancer would be completely out of my budget. Yet people are unlikely to go out of their way to help an A2 media student by making their way to a studio and using valuable time to come up with a dance to my song and then allow me to film them doing so.
Recently after thinking it over I came up with a solution to this problem. I decided that although it may be unreasonable to ask the dancers for their time and effort for nothing, I would instead offer to give them the footage I obtained from the filming session using my filming skills and professional equipment. They would then be free to use the footage in any way they wanted such as for promotional means. This way both the dancer and myself got something out of the session and would give the dancers I contacted incentive to let me film them.
Over the next few days I will research potential dancers and dance schools that might be interested in my project.
